The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA), an independent authority dedicated to promoting, encouraging, enhancing, and safeguarding the integrity of professional tennis worldwide, imposed the ban as well as a $100,000 (£72,500) punishment on the player.
Maytn, who had the best ATP doubles rating of 86 in 2015, is now barred from participating in, teaching at, or otherwise visiting any tennis tournament sanctioned by the governing organisations of tennis for the next 14 years.
Among the offences committed by the player was a violation of rules stating that "no covered person shall, directly or indirectly, contrive or attempt to contrive the outcome or any other aspect of any event," and "no covered person shall, directly or indirectly, solicit or accept any money, benefit, or consideration with the intention of negatively influencing a player's best efforts in any event."
The case was handled under the context of the 2021 TACP Proposal for Disposition, which permits the ITIA to penalise a player upon admission of guilt without the necessity for a formal hearing.
